Dune Series, Emmy Nominations, Spider-Man Noir Synopsis and more.

This week wasn't big on the news, but still enough for us to enjoy!

It’s Arcane Friday, everyone!

Ahem, ok it’s Sunday you got me.

Welcome to the end of the week! Whether you're gearing up for a weekend of relaxation or finding some downtime between shifts, I hope you're ready for some exciting updates.

This week we have:

  • Release of ‘Nobody Wants to Die’

  • Trailer for Dune: Prophecy and its release window

  • Synopsis of Spider-Man Noir

  • Details of upcoming Avengers movies

  • Leaked screenshot of the new Bioshock title

  • New DC comics

Plus, a special surprise!

So let’s dive in.

Nobody Wants to Die - Out Now

Released on July 17th, ‘Nobody Wants to Die’ is a noir detective story set in a cyberpunk New York with early 20th-century inspirations. I started playing it on Wednesday and got through the introduction.

The developers have a good sense of taste, the writing is strong, and the voice acting is solid. I can’t wait to dive deeper into the game and see what it has to offer.

If you want to join in, the game is available on PS5, Xbox S/X, and Windows.

Dune: Prophecy - Release Window

The Dune franchise is expanding! This new series will explore the founding of the Bene Gesserit sisterhood, roughly 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides. The trailer promises action, epic sets, and political intrigue.

The release date is set for November, and it will be streaming on HBO.

Spider-Man Noir Synopsis

This week, we learned that the series will follow an aging, down-on-his-luck private investigator (played by Cage) in 1930s New York, who must grapple with his past life as the city’s only superhero.

Spider-Man Noir will face off against Silvio Manfredi, aka Silvermane, and Yuri Watanabe, aka Wraith. Brendan Gleeson is likely to play Silvermane.

Cage will portray Ben O’Reilly, not Peter Parker. Ben is a clone of Peter in the original comics, so it will be interesting to see this new take on Spidey.

There’s no release date yet, as production hasn’t begun. I’ll keep you posted!

Upcoming Avengers Movies

The Russo Brothers, who directed Avengers: Infinity War, Endgame, and Captain America: Civil War, are in talks to direct Avengers #5 and Avengers: Secret Wars.

As usual with Marvel movies, details are scarce until the trailers drop. Stay tuned for more updates!

New Bioshock Tease

A leaked screenshot gives us a glimpse into the early build of the new Bioshock game.

The UI shows icons for player powers, health and energy bars, and a shotgun. One power icon suggests we might be able to control time in some way.

Hopefully, we’ll hear more from official sources soon.

DC Comics Refresh

DC Comics has announced an All-In initiative and a new Absolute Universe.

Years ago, DC rebooted their comics with The New 52. Now they’re doing it again, introducing the darker, grittier Absolute Universe, comparable to Marvel’s Ultimate Universe.

This new universe, powered by Darkseid’s chaos energy, contrasts sharply with the original universe’s Superman/Sun energy. Additionally, there will be changes to the creative teams for some main comic lines.

Deadpool Fun Fact and Kevin Conroy’s last Batman

Cheeky controller

The hype for the Deadpool and Wolverine movie is building with various promotional content, including a Cheeky Xbox Controller announcement.

To try your luck at winning one of the 1,000 controllers, follow this link to Xbox’s post on X, follow their account, and repost it.

Last performance of Kevin Conroy

Kevin Conroy, the iconic voice of Batman, passed away two years ago. I thought his appearance in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was his final performance.

However, I discovered this clip from Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths, Part Three. Kevin’s lines in this clip are a perfect way to remember him. I won’t spoil it—just enjoy it for yourself!

My apologies for the delay this week.

Next week Friday I’ll be on time ;)

Cheers,
