Deadpool & Wolverine release, new trailers, Fallout London and more
Lot's of new trailers and geeky news dropped this week, and with SDCC more on the horizon
Good Arcane Friday, fellow nerds!
At first, I thought this week would be scarce on news. But oh boy, was I wrong!
With San Diego Comic-Con in full swing, there's a plethora of panels about series, movies, and games to cover. Yours truly will keep an eye on it and report as much as I can—maybe even a special report after the weekend.
But first, let me list the news I'll share with you today:
Long-awaited Deadpool & Wolverine
Penguin series news
Borderlands movie trailer
Start of production for the Fantastic Four movie
Trailer of the series Kaos starring Jeff Goldblum
Announcement of the Warhammer 40k trailer
Arthur C. Clarke Award winner announced
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 delayed till November
Fallout London release
Feel free to jump to the topics that interest you the most. Let’s dive in!
Release of Deadpool & Wolverine
The third installment of Deadpool’s shenanigans is being released worldwide, and this time he has a partner in crime—Wolverine, played by the one and only Hugh Jackman. The duo we've longed to see on the big screen is finally here.
Not sure about you, but I’ll be getting my tickets ASAP.
Borderlands movie trailer

Lionsgate
The final trailer for the Borderlands movie is out, and the official release is just a few weeks away, on August 9th.
Borderlands has always held a warm, trigger-happy place in my heart, filled with memories of playing with friends.
The trailer showcases a lot of action and banter between the characters. We will see Lilith (Cate Blanchett), Roland (Kevin Hart), Tiny Tina (Ariana Greenblatt), Krieg (Florian Munteanu), and Claptrap (Jack Black). Let’s see if the movie captures the magic of the game.
Penguin Series

If you enjoyed The Batman movie by Matt Reeves, you’ll be excited to hear that the spinoff series The Penguin is coming to HBO this September. This series will lead into The Batman: Part II, set to hit the big screen on October 2, 2026.
And looks like Matt Reeves wants to explore the Gotham and it’s underbelly to improve the story of Batman.
Fantastic Four start production

Marvel is notoriously secretive about production details, but we learned from Kevin Feige that production for Fantastic Four will start at the end of July.
Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards) shared a picture on his Instagram of himself and his fellow actors on set. Joining Pedro will be Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm), Joseph Quinn (The Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm).
Let’s see what this family will be up to in the reboot of the franchise.
Kaos Series

Jeff Goldblum as Zeus? Sign me up. Kaos is a dark comedy series about Zeus, who thinks his reign is ending because he saw a wrinkle on his forehead. The series will be out on Netflix on August 29th, and I’ll definitely be tuning in to check it out.
Warhammer 40k trailer for animated series
The Warhammer universe continues to expand with the announcement of an animated anthology called The Tithes.
There will be three episodes titled Sacrifice, Harvest, and Bullets. According to the announcement, the first episode will be available in August.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is delayed
The game has been delayed again, but at least the developer team has a sense of humor about it. They released a small video on YouTube to share the news. The new release date is November 20th.
However, we will be getting some new footage on August 12th, so stay tuned!
Fallout London Launch Trailer

While one post-apocalyptic world is delayed, another one is already here. The largest mod for Fallout ever created gets released on Thursday. You can watch the release trailer to see what’s in store.
The team of enthusiasts of FOLON
behind this mod has achieved something impressive. IGN released an article explaining how you can set foot on the streets of London.
San Diego Comic-Con Special
I’m expecting a lot of news from this weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con, which started yesterday (July 25th) and runs until Sunday (July 28th).
I’ll be keeping an eye out for more interesting teases, releases, and news, and will prepare something special for you all.
Enjoy your Friday and your weekend, fellow nerds!
Cheers,
Evald Smilskaln
