Read on to find out which show comes back this fall, and who joined cast of Spider-Man Noir
Greetings, fellow nerds and ladies!
Another week has gone by, and while I expected more news from San Diego Comic-Con, the announcements we did get were quite significant.
Let’s dive into what happened this week:
Return of Robert Downey Jr. and the Russo Brothers to the MCU
Silo returns to Apple TV in November
Clip from the new season of Vox Machina and an animatic from Mighty Nein
New cast members joining Spider-Man Noir
Some not-so-good news for Henry Cavill’s Warhammer 40k project
Interview with developers of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
James Gunn wraps production for Superman
Prologue of Stormlight 5
Feel free to jump to the topics that interest you the most.
Marvel News
This past weekend, we saw some big announcements shake up the halls of SDCC. First, we learned that the Russo Brothers will return to direct the next two Avengers movies, and we got their titles as well:

Another big piece of news is that Robert Downey Jr. will be returning to the MCU, but this time as Doctor Doom. In the Marvel comics, there was a storyline where Victor von Doom swapped bodies with Tony Stark. However, since the MCU is diving into the Multiverse phase, they might use this as a way to bring back the famous actor in a new role.

Will this decision bring the MCU back to the level we saw in the franchise before? Only time will tell.
Return of Silo to Apple TV

The series based on Hugh Howey's books is returning to the small screen on November 15th. Rebecca Ferguson will reprise her role as Juliette, joined by Steve Zahn.
Season two also stars Tim Robbins, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, Alexandria Riley, Shane McRae, Remmie Milner, Clare Perkins, Billy Postlethwaite, Rick Gomez, Caitlin Zoz, Tanya Moodie, and Iain Glen. It premieres November 15th with a single episode; the 10-episode season runs weekly through January 17th, 2025.
Clips of Vox Machina and Mighty Nein

Critical Role continues to captivate our imaginations and screens. During their panel at SDCC, the cast shared a clip from the upcoming season of Vox Machina and an animatic from Mighty Nein.
The third season of Vox Machina will air on October 3rd this year on Prime. As for Mighty Nein, production will begin soon, so the release date is still far off. I’ll keep you updated as soon as I learn more.
Character summaries for Spider-Man Noir and new actoir joins the cast

On GeekTyrant you can find an article sharing the character summaries for the upcoming Prime Series. There you’ll be able to learn more about Ben O’Reilly (Spider Noir), Sandman, Silvermane and more.
Thanks to Deadline we learned that Abraham Popoola will join to be a regular on the show as well.
Henry Cavill’s Warhammer 40k Project in Danger

Henry Cavill, Hollywood’s most famous nerd, has long expressed his desire to star in a Warhammer 40k project. However, despite initial talks, there are now ripples of trouble. The issue stems from the lack of "creative guidelines."
In its annual financial report, Games Workshop stated that these projects (both TV and film) will not proceed unless they reach an agreement on "creative guidelines" with Amazon Studios. If these agreements aren’t finalized by December this year, the projects won’t come to life.
Let’s hope the studios can reach an agreement.
Developer Interview - Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

On the PlayStation Blog, we learned more about the game and the inspirations behind its creation.

James Gunn’s Superman Wraps Production

On Wednesday, James Gunn posted a picture on his Instagram showing himself and the cast of the film in an icy, cold location.
Now, we just have to wait until the movie’s release on July 11th, 2025.
Preface and Prologue to Stormlight 5

Brandon Sanderson has released the prologue for the fifth installment of the Stormlight Archive.
If you can’t wait until the release on December 6th, 2024, head over to ReactorMag to read the Preface and Prologue. Get a taste of what the book has in store.
That’s it, folks.
I hope your week went amazing. Be kind to each other and to yourself.
Enjoy your weekend and whatever adventure you choose to take.
Peace!
